I’m not the type of person who gets excited about entertaining with a specific theme or design in mind, but I absolutely did volunteer to host Easter at my house after seeing the gorgeous new Flower Plates from Le Creuset’s spring collection. So, maybe I am that type of person, after all. Especially considering that my favorite part of Easter really is the aesthetic: I’ve been ramping up my Peter Rabbit collection, eyeing MacKenzie-Childs’ new Easter decor, and thrifting as much Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage pottery as I can find. I’m not that into the Easter food spread, nor is there a reason to have an egg hunt when your household is only two adults, but I was immediately and fully inspired to create a pastel tablescape vision upon seeing the new plates. Next thing I knew, I’d answered the group text: “I’d be happy to host this year!”
Already tapped as a sell-out risk—the small plate sizes are already sold out—these gorgeous floral plates play on the very “in” scallop trend. The large size is still available in both Turquoise and Provence purple, but they likely won’t stay in stock for long. I’ll be grabbing five of each color, so I can set every other plate blue, then purple, and if you can envision these plates on your Easter tablescape, then I suggest adding them to cart now before blue and purple sell out, too.

Buy on Lecreuset.com While the original price was $30 per plate, they’re currently marked down to $23 each. Each plate is made from Le Creuset’s signature premium stoneware featuring a chip-, scratch-, and stain-resistant color glaze that’s also conveniently dishwasher-safe. Like most of Le Creuset favorites, these plates can go in the freezer, oven, microwave, and broiler, and are safe to use along with metal utensils, too.
Aesthetics aside, the biggest reason I want to set my Easter Sunday table with the Flower Plates is that they will keep food hotter longer (or colder, depending on the dish). Plates made of porcelain, melamine, or vitrified glass do not have the heat retention that enameled cast iron stoneware does. It’s so tricky to time cooking and serving all the different dishes, and as someone who is a bit, um, wobbly in the kitchen, a plate that keeps guests’ food warmer for longer can only help me. Like I said, I host for the look and the vibe, not necessarily because I’m some genius chef.
