As someone with a 30FF bust, getting dressed in spring and summer has always felt… mildly traumatic. I love the idea of floaty linen trousers, lace trim skirts and those effortlessly cute cami tops you see all over TikTok. But in reality? Most of those outfits scream, This was not designed with boobs in mind. And don’t even get me started on bras. Anything supportive enough tends to come with thick straps, bulky cups and zero chance of working with a delicate, strappy top. Not the vibe.
But seeing women like Sydney Sweeney fully embrace their fuller bust – instead of trying to minimise it – has completely changed how I want to dress. So this year, I set myself a mission: to find a cami top I could actually wear without a bra – one that would hold everything in place, feel comfortable and, most importantly, not be see-through so I could finally lean into this season’s biggest trends.
Well, I think I’ve found it. The viral cami that actually delivers. Enter the Cotton On Hold Me Cami, £18 at ASOS.

ASOSPrice: £15 (was £18)www.asos.com
View offer My honest thoughts I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting miracles given the price point. But the moment I put it on, I was shook. The fabric? Buttery soft. The fit? Snatches you in at the waist. The support? Somehow… actually there. I don’t know what kind of magic Cotton On has worked into this top, but it genuinely keeps everything lifted and in place without a bra. No bra, no problem (yes, really).
In the black version (which is currently on sale for £15) I felt completely confident without even needing nipple covers – it’s thick enough to smooth everything out without feeling heavy. The white version? Slightly different story (as expected), but still a win. I just added a pair of smoothing nipple covers. Top tip: skip the papery ones and go for silicone stickies – Eylure Smoothing Nipple Covers, £10, are my faves. They mould to your shape and disappear under tighter fabrics.
And unlike so many “built-in bra” tops I’ve tried before, this one doesn’t create that dreaded uni-boob situation. You know the one? Where everything merges into one and somehow looks bigger? Major ick.

©Emma Hawkins/Closer Styling the Cotton On Hold Me Cami What I didn’t expect was how much I’d reach for this. I’ve worn it with flared lounge trousers for errands, with leggings for low-impact gym sessions (I lift weights – can confirm, it holds up), and even with baggy jeans and a zip hoodie for that off-duty look. I also layered two together once (don’t ask, I was experimenting) and it created the cutest double-layered fit – and still held everything in place. Its one of those basics that works with everything.
Sizing Another major win? The size range. It runs from 2XS to 2XL, which we love to see. For reference, I’m a size 10 with a 30FF bust. I went for a medium (UK 12) to accommodate the girls, and it fits perfectly – supportive but still comfortable. That said, if you want a more sculpted, snatched feel, you could definitely size down.
My final verdict I’ve tried a lot of camis in my time, and most fall into one of two categories: cute but useless, or supportive but ugly. This one somehow manages to be both. If you’ve been searching for a cami you can actually wear without a bra – whether you’re fuller-busted or not – zero gatekeeping here: this is it.
No exaggeration: it’s giving SKIMS, without the price tag.
And at £18, I’m already planning to stock up in every colour before they inevitably sell out.
SHOP: The best cami tops for fuller busts While this one has completely earned its place as my go-to, it’s not the only cami that’s impressed me. I’ve been trying a few other fuller-bust-friendly styles recently – including some new-in pieces from Garage – so if you’re on the hunt for more options, I’ve rounded up a few of my favourites below.
2. Garage Sleek Scoop Cami Top

GaragePrice: £19.95www.garageclothing.co.uk
View offer I also have to give a shoutout to the Garage Sleek Scoop Cami Top, which has quickly become another go-to in my rotation. It’s more of a sleek, second-skin vibe — super stretchy, body-hugging and really flattering through the waist. I love the scoop neckline as it shows just the right amount without feeling too exposed, and the straps are thin but don’t dig in (a rare win).
It’s not quite as compressive as my Cotton On one, but it’s breathable and still holds you in nicely, giving that smooth, sculpted look. Perfect for days when you want something a little lighter, but still supportive. And it comes in so many colours, like this cute, soft pink, so you’ll be spoiled for choice.
3. Abercrombie Fitch Women’s Bra-Free 90s Cami

Abercrombie FitchPrice: £22www.abercrombie.com
View offer I’ve also found myself shopping more at Abercrombie Fitch lately, and this Bra-Free 90s Cami is no exception. While it’s slightly pricier than some of my other picks, as a fuller-bust girl who often feels like clothes just aren’t designed with her in mind, I’d say it’s well worth it. I’ve tried a few pieces from the brand recently, and the quality is genuinely next level. Everything feels thick, well-made and designed to actually flatter your shape, rather than fight against it. It’s the kind of material that holds you in, washes well and feels like it’ll last you for years – which, in my opinion, makes their slightly higher price point justified. Top tip: size down for a snatched look.
4. Lululemon Wundermost Ultra-Soft Nulu Spaghetti-Strap Adjustable Cami

LululemonPrice: £38www.lululemon.co.uk
View offer While the brand’s Align top has gone viral (for good reason), if you’re after something that feels less gym and more everyday, this is such a great alternative. It doesn’t have a built-in bra, which I actually prefer, but it’s surprisingly supportive thanks to the double-layered fabric that gently contours your body. As expected, the fabric is next level – that signature buttery-soft feel Lululemon is known for – and it just skims the body in the most flattering way. It’s definitely more of a splurge, but one you can really feel the quality in, and one that will last in your wardrobe for years.
Girl math.
