Kiln Stilts, Size #2- 1.5" diameter; used for pieces up to 4" in diameter. Stilts are used to separate china when firing in the kiln. Proper use of stilts allows much more efficient firing as pieces can be stacked and airflow can be maintained for consistent firing results. Stilting will also minimize cracking in the firing process as air flow is enhanced. Stilts will not affect the glazed surface of porcelain but may leave small marks on earthenware.
